Johnnie Walker Red Soul: A New Take on an Icon

Few whisky bottles are as instantly recognizable as Johnnie Walker. The square bottle, the slanted label and the Striding Man have become symbols in their own right. Now, the Johnnie Walker family welcomes a new addition, also making its way to the Slovak market – Johnnie Walker Red Soul.

Red Soul brings a softer and sweeter expression of the Johnnie Walker character. Vanilla, caramel and gentle oak lead the flavour profile, while the whisky itself was created with mixed drinks firmly in mind.

That idea is reflected in a series of simple hero serves designed to let the whisky speak for itself. Red Soul & Cola, Red Soul & Lemonade and Red Soul & Soda offer three easy ways to enjoy it in a long, refreshing serve.

And then there is another direction.

Johnnie Walker Highball House

Red Soul has naturally found its place at the Johnnie Walker Highball House at Sky Bar & Restaurant in Bratislava. The project presents Johnnie Walker through a modern highball approach, showing that whisky does not have to live exclusively in a rocks glass or be enjoyed neat.

For Red Soul, the Sky Bar team decided to build around its sweeter character with peach, ginger and one rather unexpected ingredient – Dijon mustard.

The result is Do You Want Mustard or Ketchup?

Do You Want Mustard or Ketchup?

30 ml Johnnie Walker Red Soul
5 ml Dijon Mustard Redistill
20 ml Peach Acid
15 ml Ginger Syrup
60 ml Peach Cold Brew Tea

Peach appears in two different forms – as an acidified fruit component and as a cold brew tea. Ginger adds a gentle spicy kick, while the Dijon Mustard Redistill brings an unusual aromatic contrast to the sweeter profile of Red Soul.

All ingredients are combined, thoroughly chilled and carbonated with CO₂. The result is a light, sparkling whisky highball that shows a more creative side of Red Soul.

From a simple serve with cola, lemonade or soda to a more elaborate cocktail at Sky Bar & Restaurant, Johnnie Walker Red Soul shows exactly what it was designed for – a whisky that leaves room for mixing.
