New Zealand’s First Bar Conference

New Zealand has just marked a historic milestone. NZ Bar Con(vention) is the country’s first dedicated “bar week” – bringing together bartenders, venue owners, suppliers, and all professionals from across the hospitality industry. After a successful debut in 2024, the event is back with a three-day programme packed with inspiration, education, and unforgettable experiences – and this year, The Cocktail Balance is part of it.

Why NZ Bar Con Was Created

Founders Andrea Marseglia and Sarah Dawn Mitchell have seen first-hand how challenging recent years have been for New Zealand’s bar industry – from the pandemic to economic pressures, a devastating cyclone, and the rising cost of living. Their vision was clear:

Three Days of Energy and Connection

The event takes place 3–6 August 2025 in Auckland CBD and Ponsonby. Expect:

• Seminars and workshops led by industry leaders

• Tastings of unique spirits and drinks

• Guest bartending and takeover events

• Networking with professionals from across New Zealand

All events are within walking distance, making it easy for attendees to move between venues.

A Platform for Brands

NZ Bar Con provides a platform not only for bartenders but also for brands. Partners have the opportunity to present themselves through workshops, events, podcasts, blogs, or product stands.
