Mirror Bar in Bratislava, Slovakia, has been announced as the winner of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award as part of Europe’s 50 Best Bars 2026. This marks the first of two special awards that will be announced in the run-up to the reveal of the list of Europe’s 50 Best Bars 2026.

Celebrating the vital role of hospitality in the bar experience, the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award recognises a venue that the more than 300 anonymous industry experts that make up Europe’s 50 Best Bars Academy believe has delivered excellent warmth, service and guest engagement during the voting period. The award will be presented at a live ceremony taking place in Amsterdam on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

Mirror Bar has become a defining force in Slovakia’s modern cocktail scene since its opening within Bratislava’s historic Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in 2019, blending elegance, art and nature into a singular concept. Headed up by Bar Manager Peter Marcina and Global Bar Ambassador Stanislav Harciník, the team at Mirror Bar set out to create a transportive experience that combines tradition and timeless style with bold, futuristic ideas designed to evoke a sense of science fiction. This award underscores the bar’s continued success, following its recognition as the recipient of the Disaronno Highest New Entry Award at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 and a strong debut at No.25 on the list.

Mirror Bar’s Essence of Design menu reimagines six core principles: form, shape, line, texture, colour and space through inventive, visually striking cocktails. Beyond the menu, the experience is defined by the team’s genuine hospitality, attention to detail and commitment to meaningful guest interaction, making every moment a memorable visit. With theatrical, maximalist serves, the team ensures every cocktail is not just refined, but a thoughtfully curated and engaging adventure.

The bar’s interior is an immersive environment with forest-green walls that are complemented by emerald velvet furnishings and rich wooden panelling. There are cabinets of curiosities displaying miniature bonsai trees beneath a lofted skylight. At the centre of the space stands a remarkable full-size tree, created by florist Róbert Bartolen, which serves as a captivating focal point. Together, these elements combine to give the impression of the surrealist fantasy of a Victorian-era natural scientist.

Emma Sleight, Head of Content for Europe’s 50 Best Bars, says: “In a short space of time, Mirror Bar has become one of Bratislava’s standout spots. With a seamless blend of creativity and precision, the team has crafted an experience that feels both elevated and inviting. We would like to offer our biggest congratulations to the team. This kind of recognition reflects the team’s hard work, creativity and genuine hospitality.”

Global Bar Ambassador for Mirror Bar, Stanislav Harciník, comments: “At Mirror Bar and with our project Mirror Hospitality Expo, we wanted to share our view of true Slovakian hospitality with the global bar community. Now, receiving this recognition from fellow professionals and friends proves that this feeling and our approach are working. This honour is meaningful not just for our bar and team, but for Bratislava, Slovakia, and our entire region. We are truly grateful and honoured to receive the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award, and accept this as a responsibility to keep delivering an exceptional experience for every guest who steps into the bar.”

Matt Magliocco, Executive Vice President for Michter’s Distillery, says: “Congratulations to Peter Marcina, Evica Domonji, Stanislav Harciník and the entire team at Mirror Bar in Bratislava for winning the Michter's Art of Hospitality Award. Their collective dedication to crafting unforgettable experiences sets a sterling example throughout Europe and beyond."
